OUR HISTORY


Samuel Popa, a Romanian native, migrated to the United States with the dream of living in the land of opportunity. Through this transition, he was introduced to the Aluminum Extrusion business. Sam quickly realized that his goal was to own his own extrusion company. Through passion and perseverance, Sam pursued his dream of starting his business.

2001
AAE started
Forklift
AAE started in 2001 in Beloit, Wisconsin with a Japanese 3K extrusion press. Later this year, AAE went on to purchase a 2nd extrusion location in Canton, Ohio known as AAEO.
2014
AAE Relocation
AAE Building

AAE relocated to a property in Roscoe, Illinois to accommodate new growth. Our 4K extrusion press was installed in this new location.

2016
AAE commissioned
Custom Extrusion
In 2016, AAE commissioned and installed our largest press, known as the 5K.
2021
AAE continues to grow
Customer Service
AAE continues to grow at a steady rate of about 10-20% a year. We are bringing in new presses and in the works of opening an in-house anodizing line, paint line, and cast house within the next 5 years.
2022

AAE Becomes Sole Proprietary Company

AAE purchased all stock after 22 years of joint ownership and the company now is listed under ownership of Popa Holdings.

STRATEGIC DIRECTION - VISION

Continue to add capacity economically conservative using the “Equipment Rebuild and Improve” original AAE philosophy. Continue to improve the core AAE teams by promoting from within and building on the already accumulated experience of long-term employees. Continue to grow the business with added value offering full service from extrusions to machined parts or high precision cut parts.

GOALS

  1. Increase market share by adding extrusion presses and value-added processes.
  2. Improve actual processes by adding technological advanced capabilities. 
  3. Maintain and achieve ISO Certification for all AAE facilities.

QUALITY OBJECTIVE

The Quality Objective of AAE is to continually improve by putting emphasis on Standardized Work to eliminate the risks associated with shortcuts or improvisations and to ensure consistent product quality.
